Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Why was Princess Parties Switzerland created?
Princess Parties Switzerland was born from the dreams of a 17 year old high school student who attends the International School of Basel (ISB).  It is her dream to share her love of Princesses with others, to be an inspirational role model and to provide healthy and wholesome entertainment to young children.

2. Is there a choice of Princesses?
We currently only have one Princess who impersonates a well known fairytale character which you can see from the photographs on this website (see Gallery). Therefore, we recommend you to book early to avoid disappointment.

3. How can I book a Princess Party?
There are three easy steps to book a Princess Party. 
A. First, check the Calendar of Bookings on this website to see if the Princess is available. We will keep this calendar updated with her bookings, and it’s possible that the Princess can attend two events on the same day (assuming they are located not too far apart).
B. Second, complete the Booking & Contact Form and email it to princessparties.ch@gmail.com. We will then send you a Reservation Confirmation email that outlines the summary of your booking. 
C.Third, pay the deposit of 60.00 CHF to secure your booking. Please review our Reservation and Cancellation Policy for more details.

4. Who is the young lady behind the Princess?
For the purpose of privacy, the high school student who owns and operates Princess Parties Switzerland would prefer to keep a low profile and maintain her real identity as a secret (for the time being at least).  What we can tell you about her is that she is a trained youth leader at her church, she has acting experience and she enjoys working with children.  She is also fully supported by her loving family who are helping her run this business and act as the royal chauffeurs.


5. What does Princess Parties Switzerland provide for the event?

We provide a Princess impersonator who comes equipped with a selection of activities to entertain the children for a specific period of time. She has story books to read, music to sing along with, light make-up, some craft supplies, and a limited supply of Princess accessories (ie: wands, crowns, etc) which she uses during the event.  She will also bring a special gift for each child. We do not provide: a venue, photographer, table, chairs, balloons, party bags, buffet food, cake, decorations or costumes for the children.

6. What is the typical flow of the standard Princess Party?

The standard package is 90 minutes starting from the time the Princess arrives to the time she leaves the event.  Typically, she will arrive a few minutes after the official start of the party to ensure all guests have arrived and to make a grand entrance.  During the event, we would ask that the host helps to manage the flow of activities so that the 90 minutes time frame is respected.  In our experience, the farewell process can take some time depending on the number of children so we need to allow sufficient time for everyone to give the Princess a hug and bid farewell.  The Princess will also have a special gift for each child which will be handed out just before she leaves.

7. What about the boys?  Do you have anything special for the boys?

The theme of the party is decided by the host, and we are very open to attending parties with both girls and boys. We also recognize that some little girls want to dress up in other types of costumes which are not princess related.  The intent of Princess Parties Switzerland is to offer healthy and wholesome entertainment to young children regardless of gender or preference to any type of fictional characters or styles.

8. For the craft activity, what do you provide and what does the host need to do?

For each event, the Princess will bring almost everything she needs to entertain the children, and she'll choose the activities based on the mood of the group.  Specifically for craft activities, we would ask that the host prepare a table for the craft activity and provide scissors, glue and any craft supplies that they might have on hand. The Princess will bring stickers (princess-themed and otherwise), themed colouring pages, crayons and coloured paper.

9.  Can the host decide "on the spot" to extend the package they have selected for the event?
The standard package is 90 minutes starting from the time the Princess arrives to the time she leaves the event.  If the Princess does not have another activity immediately following an event, then she could agree with the host to stay an additional 30 minutes.  This decision is up to the discretion of the Princess herself. This "on the spot" extension would incur additional cost. Every additional 30 minutes beyond the agreed package will be charged at 75.00 CHF.

10. Are you comfortable attending a party in a park or outside?
In general, we are very willing to attend a party outside.  Most of the Princess Party activities are geared towards being done inside, such as crafts, so we would need to discuss with the event host what types of activities they are thinking of.  Notably the Princess would probably need to leave her glittery princess shoes at home and wear footwear more appropriate to an outdoor setting.
